Unlike conventional weight-based systems Magnex provides instantly variable concentric (the positive lifting phase of an exercise) and eccentric resistance (the negative lowering phase), greatly increasing the effectiveness of every exercise. Magnex’s unique, variable resistance system perfectly matches the user’s individual strength curve throughout the entire range of motion of each exercise. MAGNEX IS SMARTER

At the core of every Magnex machine, is our patented resistance engine, which replaces conventional, heavy weight-stacks. This design is streamlined and light, yet able to provide in excess of 200 kilograms of resistance. (more on specialist High Intensity models). Magnex technology has the capability to transform the world of fitness and physio-rehabilitation training.

AAll machines have a wireless interface to connect to any smartphone, iPhone, iPad, or computer. This allows the user to both control the unit, and record all exercise sessions in detail – something not possible until now.

We envisage users and personal trainers forming Virtual Gyms with groups of trainers connecting remotely, to and from anywhere in the world.

AHealth and fitness apps are growing at twice the rate of any other type of app. We are developing an intelligent app to be used in conjunction with Magnex, capable of collecting and distributing data and sharing it with colleagues, gyms and other trainers worldwide.

AThis ground-breaking global connectivity will allow physiotherapists and personal trainers to analyse data in great detail, as well as allowing friends to connect and share training tips and training progress with each other.

MAGNEX IS SLIMMER!

Magnex will enable any gym or training facility to offer more varied exercise routines to their clients, particularly as one machine can be used for many different types of exercises. Magnex will offer clients a training experience involving less queuing, with an optimised, shorter workout producing better and faster training results.

One multifunction unit will enable a full range of upper and lower body exercises to be done with a minimal number of accessories and attachments. Plus there is the added benefit of being able to combine exercises into a complete, whole body, cardio circuit. Magnex is the complete fitness centre.

We have created a completely new deign concept which is strikingly futuristic in appearance and on-trend with existing smart products. However, its neutral and fresh image would fit well in almost any setting - home, commercial or medical. Weighing approximately 50kgs, yet offering over 200kg of resistance, it is practical for even the smallest of gyms or clinics.

Existing conventional machines are specific to each individual exercise and muscle group requiring a separate machine for each one. Using electronically controlled resistance and simplified mechanics eliminates this problem allowing one machine to provide multi-exercise functionality - without any compromise in exercise efficiency.

MEDICAL AND PHYSIOTHERAPY APPLICATIONS

Magnex is ideally suited for physiotherapy. Not only does it provide controllable resistance in all planes of motion but it can also measure and record a patient’s routine and progress in great detail. (See what the experts say).

The exercise performance data collected can be downloaded directly from the machine or accessed remotely for use by clinicians, therapists and other healthcare professionals. Unlike specialist physiotherapy systems, such as Biodex costing around £50,000, the Magnex Physio model, will cost £3000-£4000, taking up just 2 sq. metres of floor space compared to Biodex’s several sq. meters. There is also no need for it to be used solely in a static, clinical setting. It’s light weight and portability means it can be used to treat much larger numbers of patients, even in non-specialised clinical environments – for example nursing homes, GP practises or in patient’s homes.

To take just one example, the NHS spends over £2 billion per year on the treatment of fractures, £1.7 billion of which is spent on 86,000 hip fractures alone. In the US, falls-related injuries cost a staggering $19 billion per year (Steven et al 2006).

The total potential savings to the NHS could exceed £1 billion on current numbers - which are constantly increasing with the ageing of the population. Our goal is to sell Magnex directly to private therapists and clinics and also to the NHS in the longer term.
